ENACK meeting, Monday, October 23, 2006, 7 pm, Wesley Medical Center, ED Conference Room

Attendance: Charla Holman, Mitch Jewett, Jane Ross, Denise Spaeth, Deb Veatch and Harold Veatch, guest.

Meeting called to order at 7 pm by Mitch Jewett, President. Mitch announced that the new trauma book is out and gave a report from the recent ACEP meeting he attended. He reported on the ENA Public Policy Agenda updated recently. Some items include access to emergency and trauma care, quality patient care, workplace safety, injury prevention, emergency preparedness, domestic abuse and sexual assault.

Discussion was held on the annual Christmas party. Jane and Charla had visited Café Bel Ami to investigate having the party there. They were very receptive and anxious to host our gathering. We will talk to a drug rep to attempt to defray costs as it is a little more expensive than Olive Garden. Our treasury balance is $1,333.94.

A slate of officers for the election was developed. Mitch will, of course, serve as immediate past president. Jane will become president. Charla will remain as Secretary/Treasurer as it is a two-year commitment. Denise Spaeth agreed to place her name on the ballot as president-elect.

Discussion was held on CEU’s for the upcoming year; perhaps a CEN review in the spring and a documentation offering in the fall.

Next state meeting is December 8, Providence Medical Center, Kansas City. Next ENACK meeting is the Christmas Party and election of officers.
